Security & Data protection Advanced technology is used to protect the confidentiality of your data and ensure that only the appropriate people in your organization can see appropriate sections of your data. The architects of the XDOBS solution are the same architects who built XML infrastructure that was sold to Hewlett Packard to extend their security infrastructure to provide fine grained access to secure customer documents. This same knowledge and experience has been applied to protect your data when it is saved on XDOBS servers. Location Based Services (LBS) XDOBS uses GPS as the technology enabler for Location Based Services (LBS) that exploit knowledge about where an information device is located. The user of a GPS enabled wireless-connected mobile Internet device can feed real time location data back to the XDOBS servers which can apply advanced logistics planning algorithms determine if this person has time to stop and service an extra customer site which is close to their current location. If the user has the time the system can automatically notify the user of the extra service location. Voice ML & Computer Generated voice. The current generation of phones do not allow J2ME to directly ring or talk to the user. They also do not allow J2ME client applications to talk to the server when the user is in a voice call. The XDOBS servers work around these limitations by using voice ML a XML technology that allows our servers to generate voice. Using Voice ML our servers can directly call the end users mobile phone and give the person the information via voice over phones hands free option. The intelligent client software will have already downloaded a map and turn by turn directions to the new appointment location. In the future GPS phones will allow the J2ME application to send location data back to the server while in the middle of a call and they may even enable computer generated voice right on the phone. Once this happens the server will be able to give turn by turn instructions via speaker phone. |
